If you love great food and drink, you’ll find some of the best in Kansas City. We’re proud of our long history of world-class barbecue but if that’s not your thing, don’t worry.  Kansas City has endless options for casual and fine dining; from authentic Italian in Brookside, amazing Hispanic food on the Westside, to steak and gourmet options everywhere from Overland Park to the Crossroads, you’ll find it all in KC! 

We love our local farmers’ markets, distilleries, and breweries, too. Our food and beverage scene offers a unique KC twist that you just can’t get anywhere else. We find joy in a culture that embodies the city’s diverse influences, from international flavor and home-style cooking to unrivaled craft beer destinations. 

The KC metro covers a lot of ground, but you won’t waste your life stuck in traffic. We boast one of the lowest commute times in the country. Getting to work is typically a smooth ride, thanks to multiple routes and solid highway and interstate systems. 

If you’re into sports, you’re sure to find winning teams here. In addition to the 2019 Super Bowl Champions - the Kansas City Chiefs - we are also home to the Kansas City Royals (MLB), Sporting KC (men’s soccer), KC Monarchs (AA baseball), and KC Current (women’s soccer). Our fans have a well-earned reputation as the most loyal and loudest fans in the country … and we know how to tailgate. Like fast cars? We’ve also got the Kansas Speedway and NASCAR. If college sports are more your style, we are surrounded by rivalries, including diehard fans from Big 12 schools like KU and K-State, or the SEC school just a couple of hours away at Mizzou.  

It’s not difficult to find great theater, museums, music, and art in Kansas City. Culture  abounds here, with internationally known museums such as the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and the National WWI Museum and Memorial.  Live music can always be found, whether you want jazz, rock, blues or something else. It’s said we are second only to Paris for the number of boulevards and we are proud of our City of Fountains nickname, with 48 publicly-owned fountains and 200 other registered fountains to admire. 

What can we say? People like Kansas City. We were the first city in the country to get Google Fiber, and the innovations haven’t stopped. The KC Streetcar launched to take passengers through the heart of downtown in 2016 and is already undergoing an expansion. Hop on and ride… it’s free!
