Kansas City accounting and consulting firm MarksNelson LLC is pleased to announce that Partner Robert Metcalf will serve a four-year term as Region 4 Governor of the American Society of Appraisers. The ASA is a nonprofit organization which serves as a professional affiliation of appraisers of all disciplines, working cooperatively to elevate the standards of the field.
Metcalf will bring over two decades of appraisal experience to the Board of Governors. At MarksNelson, he specializes in business valuations and litigation support services. Since 1995, he has been involved in over a thousand valuations of companies in a wide variety of industries for a variety of purposes. He has also testified as an expert witness in district courts regarding business valuation and related issues.

I look forward to helping grow membership both locally and globally while maintaining its high accreditation standards.”
Region 4 of the ASA includes Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin, Wyoming and the country of Mexico.
Metcalf has been a member of the ASA since 2003. He earned an Accredited Senior Appraiser designation in 2004 in business valuation and has been involved with the Kansas City Metropolitan Chapter for more than a decade.
In addition to his Accredited Senior Appraiser designation, Robert has earned an “Accredited in Business Valuation,” “Certified in Financial Forensics,” and “Chartered Global Management Accountant” designations from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the “Certified Valuation Analyst” and “Master Analyst Financial Forensics” designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts; and the “Certified Business Appraiser” designation from the Institute of Business Appraisers. He is a member of all these accrediting organizations.
Metcalf received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Economics from Harvard University and is a licensed CPA in both Kansas and Missouri.
